Welcome
A warm welcome to the homepage of the book “The Tower: Night of the Waterbornes” which is due for an explosive launch in May 2012. The author wants to share snippets of the book contents and to let you fall in love with the characters, as she has done.
The book captures the story of the foul intentions of evil water nymphs from Greek mythology and their determination to swamp the lands of the world, starting with the British Isles. Led by an unwitting hero, a polecat called Cedric, the brave creatures of the Tower of London have to embark on an epic battle to save The Tower of London, London and the whole of the British Isles from disappearing underwater – forever.
“One of the most exciting aspects of this book is the wealth of heraldic creatures that are brought to life. I want to share these strange and noble animals with you,” Sarah said, “When you’re dealing with a huge creature with the head of an eagle, the wings of a dragon, the body of a lion, the tail of a goat and the feet of a deer, I found an astonishing amount of respect and adulation come into play, followed by sheer affection.”
“Having spent many happy days of research at the Tower of London, meeting all those who work and live there (including ravens) and employees and understanding nearly a 1,000 years of history, I can honesty say I deem the Tower the “heart and pulse of London”,” Sarah enthused.
As we head to the book launch over the next few months, the “Characters” page will be updated on a frequent basis with heraldic and mythical characters from book. Bear in mind they are eager to share their own stories and will inevitably start blogging.
“I can’t shut them up,” Sarah confessed, “They all want to start blogging and they are far more media-savvy than I am.”
